Our brooch, a fibula, is an archaic piece, modeled on a brooch from the Middle Ages. The word brooch (lat. fibula = clasp, buckle, clasp) indicates its use: like a safety pin, our brooch can be worn in a coarsely embroidered sweater or the coarse fabric of a jacket. (Coarse fabric because the needle of our brooch is 3 mm thick).
The oldest brooches known to us date back to the Bronze Age and were used until the High Middle Ages.

Our brooch is individually shaped by hand and then hand-forged. Clear traces of forging are visible. The spiral is made with particular care: several curves are made by hand and then precisely forged to give the spiral the necessary hardness: this gives it a springiness, like a modern safety pin, then polished to a high gloss, wrapped, your address on the envelope. And off to the nearest letterbox…. the next day the brooch is in your letterbox.

Copper is good for you…?…Although this has not been scientifically proven, many people report that copper helps with inflammation, muscle tension, joint pain and rheumatic complaints. This is why many athletes wear solid copper jewelry. You can find more interesting details on our “What you should know about copper” page.
We work with solid copper, as we do for almost all of our jewelry. If you wish, we can also make them from brass, just write this in the comments field when ordering.

Our copper comes exclusively from renowned manufacturers in Germany. We work on demand and produce your brooch within a few days of receiving your order.
