Zelos choker, solid copper. THE Torque choker… -our Celtic jewelry
And this is how we made it:
A 5mm round material (cut to your measurements) rolled into a square profile with our Durston roller, both end pieces left about 60mm straight, the remaining length twisted (torquere…) (half to the left and half to the right) then the two end pieces each forged out into a leaf shape. Form the strand into the round neck shape, the two end pieces sticking out at 90 degrees.
Grind and remove any edges, polish and – almost finished: check the now shiny choker again, … and…..and then pack it up, put it in a bubble envelope, put an address label with the tracking code on it … and off to the post office … and then the choker will soon be with you.
As the choker was made exactly according to your specifications, it will fit exactly at the base of the neck. In ancient times, torques, a choker open at the front, were widespread. The term lat torquere, meaning to twist, has therefore been applied to this choker: a twisted square profile surrounds your neck, the opening with the two forged end pieces is worn to the front. A very striking piece of jewelry, not suitable for everyday wear. Wearable rather for festive occasions, completely unsuitable for sports such as tennis or golf
