Zodiacs
The Chinese zodiac signs repeat in a cycle of 12 years. Each of these years is assigned to an animal that is popularly believed to have certain character traits. The Chinese horoscope focuses on interpreting them and revealing people’s inclinations or talents – it does not provide a glimpse into the future.
Many Chinese couples try to get married or have children in a particularly positive sign of the zodiac.
As the Chinese lunar year does not coincide with the solar calendar, the Chinese New Year is celebrated between January 20 and February 21 of each year. So anyone born on January 18, 1974, for example, was not born in the Year of the Tiger but in the Year of the Buffalo.
